About

PLAYIN’ RONDO is open to all instrumentalists:
Strings • Woodwinds • Brass • Percussion

PlayIN’ Rondo returns as a community outreach initiative to spark joy, connection, and musical passion through orchestral music-making. The programme gives musicians from all backgrounds the opportunity to experience symphonic repertoire in a collaborative orchestra setting — no auditions required.

In 2026, participants will explore excerpts from Mahler Symphony No. 2, one of the most monumental and inspiring orchestral works ever written, alongside musicians from the RondoFest Festival Orchestra & Chorus under the direction of Tengku Irfan and the festival’s artistic team, including Chorus Master Susanna Saw.

The programme aims to provide community musicians with their first exposure to standard symphonic repertoire while creating an accessible environment for learning, reconnecting, and making music together.

Beyond rehearsing repertoire, the programme creates opportunities for musicians across generations, backgrounds, and experiences to interact, collaborate, and build community through music.
