Collaborating with the Young Choral Academy, the festival will unfold at SENTRAL College Penang and the Majestic Theatre, Penang, for the Closing Gala concert. Adding a new choral programme to its existing offerings of a full orchestra and conducting classes, RondoFest aims to provide an even more diverse and comprehensive musical experience. The festival attracts participants from over 10 countries, fostering cultural exchange and inclusivity.
The five-day festival offers a range of activities, including individual lessons, masterclasses, workshops, and performance opportunities, creating a platform for talent development and cultural enrichment. Founder and CEO Kenny Ooi expresses gratitude for the festival’s recognition in nurturing talent from Malaysia and Southeast Asia, and he anticipates a transformative experience with the expanded programme. Rondo Production’s partnership with the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) enhances artistic collaboration, welcoming EUYO alumni as part of the festival’s artist faculty. Registration for active participants is open, covering instrumental, choral, and conducting categories, with fees ranging from RM200 to RM720 in Phase 1. Observer passes for workshops and masterclasses will be available in later registration phases.
