Ataneres - Flanders String Orchestra is a dynamic and autonomous string orchestra that passionately connects classical music with diverse audiences. Without a traditional conductor, each musician shapes a unique artistic vision, fostering collaboration and innovation. With a blend of Belgian and international talent, including seasoned professionals from prestigious symphony orchestras, Ataneres embodies a fresh approach to musical expression.

Embracing both traditional and avant-garde repertoire, Ataneres fearlessly explores uncharted musical territory. Since its inception in 2017, the ensemble has captivated audiences with boundary-pushing crossover projects ranging from minimalist to contemporary genres. Their dedication to Belgian contemporary music earned them the prestigious Fuga Trophy in 2019.

Ataneres is celebrated as a sought-after guest at cultural institutions throughout Flanders and the Netherlands, gracing prestigious venues such as Flagey, Concertgebouw Brugge and the Queen Elisabeth Hall. They've also made memorable appearances at festivals such as the Klarafestival - Waldenfestival and the Belgian Music Days, working with renowned soloists and conductors.

Beyond artistic excellence, Ataneres is a pioneer in cultural entrepreneurship, forging partnerships with corporate and private supporters. Supported by the dedicated "Friends of Ataneres", the ensemble explores alternative funding models, embodying a vision that goes beyond mere creativity to embrace cultural development.
