Iris van den Bos is a Dutch percussionist who studied at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire for her Masters and Advanced Postgraduate Diploma (APD). She obtained her Bachelors at the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague and had the pleasure of doing an Erasmus Exchange at the Royal College of Music in London. She has been a member of the EUYO – The European Union Youth Orchestra from 2018 till 2021 and performed in venues such as Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Royal Albert Hall and Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam. Since 2020, Iris has been playing with the Budapest Festival Orchestra – BFO where she plays under the baton of Iván Fischer. Iris freelances regularly as a timpanist and percussionist with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) and is on trial for the Principal Timpani position at the Welsh National Opera, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra in Dublin. She has also had the pleasure to play in the Colin Currie Group.
