He is a flautist, composer and workshop director who has worked extensively throughout the United Kingdom and overseas, creating new work through community and school-based projects and with the education programmes of orchestras, opera companies, art galleries, dance schools and arts organisations.

After studying at Manchester University, the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the Open University Lincoln’s career has taken in teaching and ensemble leading, managing creative projects with undergraduate and postgraduate students at GSMD and working with the BBC Proms and Symphony Orchestra where he devised the Family Orchestra and Chorus programmes and was the driving force behind collaborations which brought together musicians of all ages and experience to work with performers from Indonesia, Africa, Iran, South America and Turkey. Before joining ABRSM in 2012, Lincoln was Chief Executive of Music for Youth returning to the charity which helped to inspire his enthusiasm for music when he played the flute at the Schools Prom with the Staffordshire Youth Wind Band.

As Engagement Director at ABRSM, Lincoln has an overview of the charity’s global partnerships portfolio and drives forward the Diversity & Inclusion programme. He leads on policy and advocacy work and champions new initiatives including the recently launched Classroom 200 – a free online resource to help bring music to life in the classroom.
